Mrs. Mary Bish (week 3) is Coordinator of Fine & Performing Arts for the Wappingers (NY) Central School District. She earned an M.M. from Boston Conservatory of Music; B.M. from Ithaca College, and an M.Ed., Long Island University. |

Mr. Frank Camiola (week 3) teaches strings at Titusville Intermediate and Arthur S. May schools in Arlington School District. |

Cecil Gurganus (week 3) is an integral part of the old-time music community in Watauga County, NC, organizing and playing music for square dances, giving presentations in local schools on traditional music, and mentoring and teaching. He has been an instructor at the Swannanoa Gathering's Old-Time Music Week and teaches in the Junior Appalachian Musicians programs. read more |
| Ms. Elizabeth Handman (weeks 1, 2, 3) teaches strings in the Arlington Central School District and performs as a violist with the Hudson Valley Philharmonic. She attended CUNY Lehman and Manhattan School of Music, and has just completed her M.A. | |
| Mr. Jonathan Handman (weeks 1, 2, 3) directs the Symphony and Philharmonia orchestras at Arlington High School. As a cellist, Jon received his B.A. from Oberlin Conservatory and M.A. in conducting from SUNY Fredonia. | |

Mrs. Kimberly Handman (weeks 1, 2, & 3) is the string teacher at Arlington Middle School. A violinist and violist, she earned her B.A. in music education from the Crane School of Music and M.A. from the Hartt School. |

Miss Rachel Handman (weeks 1 and 2) performs with Hudson Valley Philharmonic and Ridgefield Symphony. She is an active teacher, violinist and fiddler in the Hudson Valley. |

Ms. Nanette Koch (weeks 1 and 2) is a long-time member of the Hudson Valley Philharmonic and the director and cellist of the Botticelli Chamber Players. She also maintains a private cello studio in her home. She received a B.S. in music education from Crane and attended the Julliard School in further cello studies. |

Mrs. Kristina Rizzo (week 2) has been teaching strings in Arlington School District for 19 years at the elementary and middle school levels. She attended Crane School of Music (B.M.) and Western Connecticut State University (M.S.). |

Mrs. Carole Schaad (weeks 1, 2, 3) directs the Strawberry Hill Strings Suzuki program in Rhinebeck. |

Miss Emily Schaad (weeks 1, and 3) is currently pursuing a doctorate in music education, and recently earned a masters degree in Appalachian Music: Roots and Influences at Appalachian State University. She received her B.M. from Curtis Institute and plays fiddle and banjo. |

Ambrose Verdibello (week 1) plays fiddle, banjo, guitar, dobro -- practically anything in a wide range of traditional styles. He has taught classes in the SHF program and we're excited to have him back at Summer Strings this year! |
Counselors
Summer Strings faculty is joined each week by a dynamic and talented staff of 9 college and university music and music education students. These counselors offer individual musical assistance, direct indoor and outdoor activities, act as teaching assistants, and make the camp experience an enjoyable one, particularly for new campers.
